Level II Education and Therapy
Level II Education Duration: 24 hours of class time (12 sessions) + Level II Therapy (sessions depend on track)
NOTE: Level I Education DOES NOT count towards Level II Education requirements.
What is Level II Education? Level II Education is a therapeutic approach to informing engages clients in therapeutically oriented activities. clients of the laws relating to alcohol and other drug impaired driving, the physiological effects of alcohol and other drugs, and how they affect driving. It also covers how thoughts and beliefs contribute to impaired driving behavior and how clients can prevent returning to impaired driving behavior.
What is Level II Therapy? In most cases, if you are required to take Level II education, you will have an additional requirement to take Level II Therapy. Therapy is assigned by "track" which is pre-determined by the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) based on the date of your offense, your BAC and prior offenses; which determines the duration for your therapy:

- Level II Education consists of 24 hours of DUI education over 12 weeks
- Typically conducted in a group setting
- Class size is limited to not more than 12 regularly attending clients
What is Level II Therapy? In most cases, if you are required to take Level II education, you will have an additional requirement to take Level II Therapy. Therapy is assigned by "track" which is pre-determined by the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) based on the date of your offense, your BAC and prior offenses; which determines the duration for your therapy:
- Track A – 42 hours (21 weeks/sessions) (.10-.149 BAC with no priors)
- Track B – 52 hours (26 weeks/sessions) (.15 or more BAC, refusal to test, no priors)
- Track C – 68 hours (34 weeks/sessions) (Less than .15 BAC, one or more priors)
- Track D – 86 hours (43 weeks/sessions) (.15 or more BAC, one or more priors)
